On BACH REGER we hear organ music in an orthodox presentation, with Professor Franz Lehrndorfer playing the organ at the Dome in Eichstätt and the organ at St. Quirin in Tegernsee, Bavaria. This edition couples Bach with Reger, who has for some reason remained obscure. Winsome Evans with her transcription of the six violin Sonatas and Partitas 1001-1006 for clavicembalo is far from conservative in her approach. Roger Woodward in his innovative interpretation of Bach goes beyond Gould, winning the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (The Annual Award of the German Music Critics).
